The man behind

Hello and Servus! Nice that you have found your path to this little project. My name is Andreas Siess and I founded patternpanda.org back in 2015 when I was working at Hochschule Furtwangen University of Applied Sciences in the Black Forest/Germany. Currently I am a researcher and PhD candidate at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences. I like pandas and photography.

If you are nosy, have a look at my other projects out there:

The portrait picture was made by the fabulous
Sandra Beuck. Thanks a lot!

Contact

I am very grateful for every mail I recieve from the users of patternpanda (yes, that is YOU!) Since I started this project I got hundreds of mails with screenshots and best wishes. I am still overwhelmed about the positive feedback that constantly finds its way to me.

If you want to stay in touch with me, send me an error report, if you have questions about licensing issues or simply want to say hello I deeply encourage you to write a few lines:

Gear

For most of the textures and materials here I used the Nikon D800 or Nikon D750 DSLR with the Sigma Art 35mm 1.4; the Nikkor Makro 60mm 2.8 or the Nikkor Makro 105mm 2.8.

The HDRIs were made with a rig, consiting of the D800 with the 14-24mm 2.8 or 24mm 2.8 fixed focus lenses and the Roundabout NP+ mounted on a tripod to avoid any parallax distortion.
